FREE EVALUATION
An evaluation is an in-person, one-on-one meeting with you, your family and your dog(s) of
and breed, which gives Canine Cadre the opportunity to discuss and review your dog's general history, behavioral
challenges, your current training status, your team training goals and objectives
with special emphasis on resolving problematic behaviors you have as a family. An Evaluation
is a prerequisite for all first-time students enrolling in one of the Canine Cadre
custome training programs. We at Canine Cadre, llc likes the entire family to get involved. So, if your schedule demands
flexibility and you would not be able to commit to a weekly sequence of training lessons,
then Canine Cadre, llc would be the best choice for you.
We wish we could guarantee that your pet's problem behaviors will be completely 'fixed'
'cured' at the end of your program with us, but such a claim is not realistic or
responsible. How your pet responds to treatment/leadership/behavior modification,
depends on many factors including genetics, ontogony, early development, socialization,
current environment and how much time is devoted to the program. Those factors
renders it impossible to predict exactly how any one dog will respond to treatment,
however, we do what it takes to maximize your chance of success. We are very proud
of all the help we have given to pets and pet owners through out the years and we welcome
the opportunity to continue providing sate-of-the-art solutions to pet/owner relationships
today and always.

Years ago, I wanted a puppy and on my search, she found me, and her name was
'Brittany'. Everything was fine, until when she started to 'get out of hand',
I enrolled us in a formal public obedience class instructed by a trainer. We
didn't learn much of anything there. In fact, I felt confused and some of the
methods left her afraid. So, I enrolled us in another public obedience class.
My puppy came out of those classes with even more behavior problems. And, of
course, we needed to straighten out all of these problems, so, you guessed it,
I enrolled us in yet another frustrating public obedience class. After those
classes, as seen with most dogs, I thought everything was hopeless.

When we went on our walks and saw other owners with their dogs, I stopped to
ask them whom they went to for training. They looked like a team and both the
dog and owner were actually having fun together. In a little over two weeks,
I asked four people and ironically, all four said Canine Cadre, Lenny Paquette.
They explained this 'evaluation' and he will customize a program based on my
individual needs, the situations and problems that I was having with my dog,
not the needs of 10 to 20 other people. This sounded too good to be true!
So what's another couple of hundred dollars and a few more months of
confusion? I really didn't have anything to lose, except for a few bad habits.

Subsequently, at the 'evaluation' I learned the dichotomy between 'trainers' and
'behaviorists'. As with the classrooms I attended, the 'trainers' handed me a leash
and said 'Okay, here's how to correct your dog!' The other class stressed all positive
or food reward. There is nothing wrong with using food, however, be careful since it
is all in how you are taught, the methodology and systematic approach as well as the
experience of the trainers.

At the 'evaluation' I told Lenny all of the problems I was having, the history of failed
pubic classes, techniques used and my goals. Using principles of Behavior Modification, we
modified and desensitized the Separation Anxiety, thunder and gun phobia, etc. with
leadership, shaping, handling guidelines and command response, within three months
from the start date, we were competing in the obedience ring! Len always told me I
could go as far as I wanted to with my dog or have a well behaved house pet. It was
all up to me.
